DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a panel discussion focusing on the role of communities in addressing the mental health crisis.\n\nPanel Moderator: Babette Apland\n\nManaging Director of "Call to Mind" | Minnesota Public Radio's Mental Health Initiative \n\n\n\nAlissa LeRoux Smith\, MSW \n\nCommunity Health & Wellbeing Strategist | Fairview Health System\n\nLeRoux Smith will address actions Fairview is taking to work with communities as well as talk about the Mental Health First Aid program\n\nJeff Jorgensen\n\nDirector of Special Services | Edina Public Schools \n\nJorgensen will talk about the increased need for mental health services for students of all ages and how Edina Public Schools is addressing that need.\n\nSgt. Dave Venne\n\nEdina Police Department \n\nSgt. Venne will provide insight to the specific training for first responders are given in handling emergency calls for mental health emergencies. \n\nKyle Cedermark\, MD\n\nChief Psychotherapy Officer | PrairieCare Medical Group\n\nCedermark will be discussing PrairieCare's mental health services\, including their specialized intensive outpatient therapy programs\, which incorporate different types of psychiatric care\, social work\, application groups\, and therapies that allow for utilizing mindfulness and acceptance skills\, and help clients "build a life worth living." \n\nWe are thrilled to also have REM5 Virtual Reality Lab with us at the Medical Summit.
